Videos of DAM Swimmers
Here are the YouTube videos of the DAM swimmers that Coach Stu shot at workouts last Monday in the diving well at the Civic Center Pool. The "G" refers to the group that swam.
According to Coach Stu, the critical areas to look for when viewing yourself are:
BODY/HEAD POSITION:
Eyes looking downward, head in line with body
Hips, shoulders and shins on same horizontal
Breathing sideways (not angled)
Balanced hip symmetry between and during breaths
STROKE:
Hands enter directly in front of shoulders, without cross over
Stay extended during breath
Bubble free catch with high elbow (in front of shoulder plane)
Palm directed backwards throughout motion
Elbow at ribs for more than one picture frame
Palm points backwards before release rather than up
Symmetrical recovery over water
KICK:
Kick while breathing
Kick continuous and in back of, not below, thighs
