Coach's Message

Hi DAM Swimmers,

It is very exciting to see so many Brute Squad and Brute Squad Lite swimmers. We are two weeks in with four weeks to go. With all of the options and opportunities it is my hope that we will get 180 swimmers to swim.

This Saturday the 9-10 am slot will be open for those wanting to swim the BS or BSL. Perfect time to come and swim. No lap swim fees for Brutes!

We will have just 4 workouts on Thanksgiving Day: 7, 8, 9, and 10AM ONLY! Come and swim and earn that second dessert! Be ready for a turkey delight set!

Board Election

Please cast your vote in the DAM Board Election. There are three open slots, and three candidates. The candidate statements were published in last week's Message. To vote, follow this link, enter your email address and cast a vote for up to three candidates.

Our bylaws require that we hold an election, though, even if it seems pointless. We've moved the election a little earlier (last week I said we'd send a link to a ballot later this month) because of the non-competetive nature of it. But even though the election seems pointless, this is the time of the year that a new board will form to lead DAM for the next year. Its a good time to think about the DAM things that are important to you, and share those thoughts with one of these candidates, or with another board member.

All Tuesday workouts ARE the Brute Squad. Just swim the workout and enter!
Sign up on sheets at Civic or Arroyo to swim during your workout time (Tuesday or Thursday only)
Weekend Lap Swim. Regular lap swim fees are waived for Brutes. Use the regular signup for lap swim, and email us when you've completed your entry to let us know. (Please do this close to your actual swim date, so we do not inadvertently charge for your lap swim).

DAM Annual Meeting

The DAM Annual Meeting will be held on Sunday, December 5, 2021, from 5-8PM at the Davis Senior Center. Its been a while since we've done this, so mark your calendars! More information to follow.

Lap Swim Changes!

No Charge for Lap Swim - The Board approved the 2022 budget at the last board meeting. The team's budget outlook for 2022 looks pretty good, and the fees the Club has been generating from lap swim are no longer necessary. As a result, the Board unanimously approved the end of weekend lap swim fees. Starting January 1, 2022, lap swim will be back to "the old way" - which means you may swim at will during weekend lap swim hours. No need to sign up (just sign in), and no additional fees.

No charge for doing a Brute Squad during lap swim - The board also voted to waive lap swim fees for swimmers who complete a Brute Squad event and complete an entry online or by mail.

The weekend schedule is as follows:

Saturday
- 7-8AM : Practice
- 8-9AM : Practice
- 9-10AM : Coach's Hour
- 10-11AM : Lap Swim
- 11AM-12PM : Lap Swim
Sunday
- 10-11AM : Lap Swim
- 11AM-12PM : Lap Swim
- 12-1PM : Lap Swim
