Weather

   Water, falling from the sky.

Today's practices were cancelled due to the pools (both Arroyo and Civic) being un-swimmable. Civic was without power as of 6AM today (we cannot swim when there is no power), and Arroyo's covers were a mess.

We will re-evaluate tonight and provide updates when more information is available.

You renewed your USMS Membership, right?

If you have NOT renewed your USMS Membership - CLICK HERE TO RENEW!

  • USMS Membership is not included with your DAM dues.
  • This is not a money-making scheme DAM concocted to raise funds!
  • Your USMS Membership pays for insurance coverage that DAM (and every masters club) needs

Everyone who swims with DAM must maintain current registration with USMS. The USMS provides liability insurance for DAM and its coaches, and DAM requires that all participants in our workouts, weekend lap swims, and competitions are registered.

The USMS offers a "Standard USMS Membership" - this is what DAM requires. The "full access membership" is not required, but it will also satisfy DAM's requirement.

Head Coach's Message

What an interesting start to the new year it has been!

Thank you all for your patience as we deal with this crazy weather. The coaching staff and the city employees have been working extremely hard to keep the pools up and running and at a comfortable temperature. Unfortunately when the power goes out or when conditions become unsafe, we have to cancel workouts. We will continue to do what we can to keep the pools open and get back to normal. If you have any questions, please feel free to reach out to me. Stay safe and stay dry!

Coach Matt

One Hour Swim

The One Hour Swim is upon us! This event runs from 1/1-1/31 with registration closing on 2/3. Click HERE for all the information on the One Hour Swim including split sheets, fees, entry procedures, etc. We will have a sign up sheet at Civic (much like we did for the Brute Squad) for people to set up a time to complete their swim during a workout. As with the Brute Squad, a great time to do your swim is during weekend lap swim. Make sure you bring a buddy to count/time so you get accurate results.

Check out the All Time Top Twenty Swimmers for the One Hour Swim. Take a look at these records and see if you can get your name on the board this year!

The One Hour Swim is a very challenging event, however with the right mindset and preparation, you can do it! It’s a national competition that is all about participation. The more people who do it, the better we do. Last year we had the most participants and won! Let’s try to go back to back and win again this year!!

If you have further questions, feel free to reach out to Coach Matt

Schedule Updates

On Monday 1/16 (Martin Luther King Jr. Day) we will be running a holiday schedule at Civic. Workouts will be held at 6, 7, 8, 9, and 10 am. There will be no Arroyo workout!

If you would like to do your HOUR SWIM at Arroyo Pool on Monday 1/16, we will run an HOUR SWIM SESSION from 9-10 am, take a 30 minute break, then run another session (if necessary) from 10:30-11:30 am. If you are interested in this, you must sign up. We will have the sign ups open for the 9-10 am slot first, if that slot fills up, we will open sign ups for the second time slot. Sign up with Coach Kerry or Coach Matt.
