It’s hard to believe that the Lake Berryessa Open Water Swim is this Saturday! It’s been great seeing so many DAM members step up to help make this event a huge success. The weather and water temperature are working out to be just right. I think it’s going to be a great day at the lake!

If you are interested in swimming, you have one more day to sign up! Open water swimming can be a little intimidating but you can do it…just think of it as an adventure!. Also remember that you have 500+ teammates that will be either cheering you on in person or sending you positive vibes from home.

Lake Berryessa 39th Open Water Swim

We have almost 100 volunteer jobs already filled. Thanks to everyone who will be helping us run a safe open water swim on Saturday.

We can still use some people to load the truck after the swim from 1-3. Can you help out after your swim? To sign up:

In conjunction with United States Masters Swimming (USMS), DAM is offering free swimming lessons to adults in the Davis community. The Adult Learn to Swim (ALTS) program is for ages 18 and up, who have moderate to no prior swimming experience and wish to learn the basics of swimming.

The four-lesson session is offered in support of USMS adult learn-to-swim initiative, which aims to reduce the number of adult drownings by providing better and more accessible swim lessons. More than a third of adults in the U.S. cannot swim the length of a pool, putting them at risk for becoming one of the 10 people who drown every day in this country, according to the CDC.

You will learn how to float, breathe while swimming, and proper arm movement while kicking.

Location: Civic Pool, 23 Russell Blvd, Davis, CA

Summer Session: Sundays; 4:00 – 5:00pm
