Head Coach Message

If you’re considering swimming in the PAC Masters Championship meet but aren’t sure what events to enter, don’t worry—the coaching staff is here to help! We’ll guide you on what events to swim and what entry times to use. Just ask, and we’ll get you all set up! This is a fantastic opportunity to challenge yourself, have fun, and be part of an exciting competition. Don’t be shy—we’d love to see you there! Remember, you don’t have to be fast to contribute. This meet is all about participation!

And if you're feeling uncertain about diving, don’t worry! Sean and I will be hosting a start clinic (details below) to walk you through all the different types of starts and help you find the one that works best for you. Let’s be DAMSTRONG and win this meet once again!

Coach Matt

Message from the Berryessa Race Director

Have you been waiting all winter long for information about jumping in a lake with 500 of your best friends and swimming until you can’t feel your limbs? What luck!

The annual Lake Berryessa Swim is back at Steele Canyon on June 7, 2025. The waterlevels are very high, and conditions are shaping up to be very good. Take this moment to save the date, and please consider helping us out in one of two ways

  1. Donate your time and energy by being a Berryessa volunteer. We are in need of a few area coordinators and each coordinator will be looking for a crew. There will be information coming soon in this Monday email, announcements on deck, and sign-up sheets at Civic
  2. Donate money by being an event sponsor. If you have a business to promote, or want your name on our merchandise, please contact Kevin Waterson at berryessa@damfast.org. We can offer you specific opportunities or get creative. Registration will open soon.

Brute Squad Party

Thanks to everyone who attended the Brute Squad party yesterday and thanks to everyone who competed in the Brute Squad this year. We had another great year with over 160 people participating and over 80 DAM Brutes! Way to go! A big shout out to Dunloe Brewery for opening up just for us. If you’re looking for a cool spot to grab a beer, go check them out!

DAM Adult Learn to Swim (ALTS) 2025 Program

For the third year running, DAM is sponsoring an ALTS program. In the past the program has been well received, beneficial to students, and gratifying for the volunteer instructors.

We have contacted the volunteer instructors who participated in previous sessions, but we are now looking for more volunteers to teach. Training will be provided, and you will have support throughout the lessons. DAM swimmers who taught in the past unanimously agree that it is very gratifying to share their love of swimming and help someone become more comfortable in the water, and learn some basic skills.

If this is something that interests you, contact info is below. We ask that you commit to all 8 teaching sessions. Past experience has taught us that consistency is key to the students’ success. If you are not certain of your summer plans, let me know if you are interested and your name will go on the “maybe” list.

The proposed dates for DAM’s ALTS 2025 Program are:

  • June 17 (Tuesday)
  • June 19 (Thursday)
  • June 24 (Tuesday),
  • June 26 (Thursday)
  • July 1 (Tuesday)
  • July 8 (Tuesday)
  • July 10 (Thursday)
  • July 15 (Tuesday)

The proposed times are:

  • 6:15p – 7:15p
Instructions to last 45 minutes, allowing time at end of class for questions, and use of showers

If you would like to know more about volunteering to instruct for the sessions offered this summer, please contact:
